Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Data Steward to shape how data is defined, shared, and reused across HDR’s Transportation Business Group. This leadership role coordinates subject matter experts and technical authorities to establish consistent data practices that support better decisions and project delivery.

The position emphasizes enablement, collaboration, and driving adoption of data standards while aligning with HDR’s employee-owned culture and enterprise data strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in the Resources engineering industry.
• Experience in development and management of diverse teams.
• Ability to work with leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.
• Committed to HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Establish SME network across the Transportation BG to define technical standards.
• Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions for key terms.
• Use your network to build alignment around data processes and priorities.
• Promote consistent, responsible use of technical data and data quality best practices.
• Support governance of externally sourced datasets and data lifecycle considerations.
• Promote data fluency across the Transportation BG.
• Coordinate with the Technology Director to align data workflows with strategy.
• Lead change management efforts to drive adoption of data standards and tools.
• Communicate with Data Stewards and Enterprise Data teams regularly.
• Ensure new tools align to the data strategy.
