Job summary

Citian in Washington, DC seeks a Transportation Data Scientist to build state-of-the-art ML models for traffic safety, mobility, and city planning. You will work with Python/SQL, NLP, and geospatial data to transform large datasets into actionable insights for clients across the United States.

You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and domain experts to stay at the forefront of NLP and AI research, contributing to a fast-growing, venture-backed SaaS startup with strong growth

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data science experience, preferably in transportation
• Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, and data science libraries
• Experience with NLP and large datasets in Python/SQL environment

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize machine learning models for textual data and other sources
• Apply ML/AI techniques to predictive and prescriptive problems
• Preprocess and transform large datasets for modeling
• Engineer features to improve model performance
• Design robust evaluation metrics and monitoring for models
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and domain experts
• Stay updated on NLP/AI research and apply to real-world problems
• Be versatile and contribute across multiple roles as needed
