Citian, a Washington, DC based SaaS company, is seeking a Transportation Data Scientist to develop state-of-the-art ML models for traffic safety, mobility, and city planning. You’ll leverage Python/SQL and NLP to handle large datasets and collaborate with cross-functional teams across the US.

The role prioritizes model development, feature engineering, and deploying robust evaluation frameworks while applying the latest NLP/AI research in a startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of ML/AI/data science experience, preferably in transportation.
• Strong Python, SQL, and NLP libraries (Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, NLTK, SpaCy).
• Experience with geospatial data (PostGIS, GeoPandas) and ML frameworks.
• Familiarity with transformers/LLMs and cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS).

Responsabilités

• Model development: build and optimize data science models from diverse sources, especially text.
• Apply ML/AI techniques to produce predictive and prescriptive insights.
• Data preprocessing to ready large datasets for training and analysis.
• Feature engineering to improve model performance and accuracy.
• Model deployment and evaluation with robust metrics and monitoring.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and domain experts.
