Job summary

State of West Virginia is seeking a Transportation County Supply Specialist who will order, receive, record, store, and ship materials and equipment at district, regional, or state stockrooms or warehouses. The position reports to the McDowell County Headquarters and the work is reviewed regularly against defined steps and procedures.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and four years of full-time clerical or warehouse experience, with substitutions possible via coursework.

• Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, timekeeping, and purchasing is included.

This position performs full-performance level duties in ordering, receiving, recording, storing, and shipping materials and equipment at a district, regional, or state stockroom or warehouse. Expectations are clearly defined, and work is reviewed often. Steps, processes, and methods are related to the job duties. Performs related duties as required.
  

Nature of Work

Minimum Qualifications

TRAINING/EDUCATION

High school diploma or the equivalent.

Experience

Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in a clerical capacity in connection with storeroom or warehouse operations, such as a stock clerk, inventory work, or handling materials; and/or experience in business operations such as bookkeeping, accounting, timekeeping, and purchasing. Substitution: Successful completion of coursework from a regionally accredited college or university, related business school, or vocational training may be substituted for four (4) years of the required experience through an established formula. Four (4) years as an hourly transportation worker with the Division of Highways.

Deferred Compensation

State employees have a unique opportunity to build retirement savings and reduce today's taxes by participating in a Section 457 deferred compensation plan. A 457 plan is similar to the 401K plans offered by private companies.

Annual Increment Pay

The annual increment is $60 for each full year of qualifying service, and is paid in July of each year. This is available to employees with 3 or more years of service.

Holidays

Twelve (12) paid holidays in each year.

Vacation

15 to 24 days per year depending on length of service.

Paid Sick Leave
