Transportation Coordinator
Bethany Community Services is seeking a dedicated and organized Transportation Coordinator to oversee our transportation operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient service for our residents. This vital role offers an opportunity to contribute to a compassionate community environment while managing a dynamic team and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise transportation staff, including scheduling and coordinating shifts to meet residents’ transportation needs
- Ensure drivers are properly trained and adhere to safety protocols and operational standards
- Oversee the operation of Bethany Community Services vehicles, maintaining safety and compliance
- Provide or arrange coverage for driver cancellations to ensure continuous service
- Manage administrative functions such as driver scheduling, booking transportation and activities, and maintaining accurate records
- Monitor and report on department revenues and expenses, ensuring budget adherence
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate transportation services for various programs and events
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in transportation coordination, logistics, or a related field
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Knowledge of safety regulations and vehicle operation standards
- Ability to handle administrative tasks accurately, including scheduling and record-keeping
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet transportation demands

Requirements
- Valid MA or NH driver’s license, CDL preferred but not required.
- Must be at least 25 years of age with at least 3 years’ driving experience, with an acceptable driving record.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience working with older adults preferred.
- Ability to successfully pass background screening processes.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English is required.
- Excellent technological skills and ability to work with Microsoft Suite.
- Desire to work with the elderly is required.
- Able to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.
- Must have an outgoing personality and be able to relate well with others.
- You must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to complete CPR / First Aid training within a probationary period.
- Ability to safely perform a range of physical activity associated with transportation operations, including walking, standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing; using hands and arms to grasp or reach; and lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
