Job summary

Tradebe is seeking a Transportation Coordinator at our East Chicago, IN facility. The role involves administrative work for the transportation team, including scheduling and dispatching for a fleet of 10–15 trucks, with a focus on safe, compliant operations.

Responsibilities include creating dispatch schedules, coordinating outbound shipments, handling third-party logistics, processing timecards and DOT hours of service, and ensuring shipment documentation and tracking.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows/Office applications and scheduling tools.
• Knowledge of DOT hours of service and FRA/DOT regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret operational documents.
• Experience with logistics software or transportation platforms is a plus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

As a Transportation Coordinator with Tradebe, you will be responsible for administrative work for the transportation team including scheduling and dispatching.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Create the dispatch schedule and coordinate outbound shipments for a fleet of 10 – 15 trucks.
• Managing third party logistics for outbound shipments.
• Assist with completing drivers’ timecards weekly and managing DOT hours of service.
• Assist with shipment paperwork for inbound and outbound loads.
• Assist with preparation and tracking of shipments.
• Follow all regulations, standards, and internal policies, to ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
• Other duties as assigned

Do you have what it takes?

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Experience working in a Windows/Office based computer operating system
• Intermediate knowledge of FRA and DOT rules and regulations
• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts, to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Experience in Samsara is a plus
• Ability to read, understand, and apply common operational documents
• Ability to work the schedule for which you are hired for
• Ability to work on-site as described in the job description
• Ability to read, write, and understand English
