Job summary

SIGMA-US in Denton, TX seeks a Logistics Dispatcher to review sales orders and consolidate into full truckload shipments using a Transportation Management System (TMS). You will coordinate transportation of finished goods to and from company facilities and to customers, including shuttle coordination.

The role requires monitoring shipment status, communicating with carriers, brokers, customers, and management, and resolving delays due to weather, breakdowns or route changes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• One year logistics experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Three years logistics experience.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish reading, writing & speaking.

Responsibilities

• Review company sales orders and consolidate into full truckload using the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Coordinate transportation of finished goods to and from company facilities and to customers including shuttle coordination.
• Act as liaison between carrier and organization to maintain open communication and ensure SLAs.
• Communicate transportation status to stakeholders including sales reps, brokers, customers, vendors and management.
• Troubleshoot route issues (breakdowns, weather delays) and optimize routes to minimize cost and maximize efficiency.
• Forecast, schedule and track daily shipments; use production schedules to determine needed capacity.
• Create and distribute weekly shipping reports and daily order reports; suggest schedule changes based on data.

POSITION SUMMARY

Review company sales orders and combine into full truckload using the Transportation Management System (TMS). Coordinate transportation of finished goods to and from the company facilities and to customer(s) including but not limited to shuttle coordination.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Determine loads using TMS and geographic knowledge; coordinate Overage, Shortage, Damage in transit (OS&D) communicate and receive disposition for OS&D


• Act as a liaison between carrier and organization to maintain open communication; hold vendors accountable for not meeting service level agreements (SLAs).


• Communicate transportation status to various stakeholders including but not limited to sales representatives, brokers, customers, vendors, and management


• Facilitate and resolve issues with road breakdowns, accidents, weather delays and any route exceptions


• Minimize freight cost by meeting department KPIs including but not limited to maximizing truck weights


• Forecast, schedule and track daily schedule of shipments including but not limited to shuttle coordination; use production schedule to determine required daily capacity; makes recommendations to daily shipment problems


• Create and distribute weekly shipping reports, customer pick up schedules and daily sales order reports; recommends schedule changes based on reports


• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent


• One (1) year Logistics experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience


• Three (3) years Logistics experience


• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish reading, writing & speaking

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITITES

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including skills with Outlook, Word and Excel


• The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor and work well independently and within a team environment


• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS

• Able to travel up to 10% of the time
