Job summary

Beacon Mobility is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to support driver teams and ensure routes run smoothly in the Greater Boston area. You will supervise 30–60 drivers, coordinate schedules, and maintain records for billing and operations.

You will resolve questions, ensure policy compliance, and build strong relationships with clients, guardians, and program staff. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and a dedication to excellent service.

Qualifications

  • Maintain a safe driving record and adapt to coverage needs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and advise 30–60 drivers and monitors.
  • Develop and implement efficient routes across several regions with regard to client needs; assign drivers accordingly.
  • Receive, record, retrieve and deliver messages; solve operational problems while maintaining professional relations.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and develop driver skills through discussion and example.
  • Promote good performance and address non-compliance as needed.
  • Spend time behind the wheel to know routes, clients, drivers, and programs; observe and supervise.
  • Build and maintain professional rapport with customers including programs, guardians, clients, and partner organizations.
  • Maintain detailed records to perform monthly billing counts.

Transportation Coordinators are responsible for communicating route information to their drivers and ensuring they have the resources necessary to succeed at their tours of duty. Their main duties include logging each call, providing answers to questions by retrieving information from the necessary departments and supervising the field units’ routes to prioritize and organize their schedules.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and advise 30-60 drivers and monitors.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing efficient routes across several regionswith regard toindividual client needs. Assign driver assignments that reflect knowledge and good judgmentregardingemployee skills and performance.
  • Must be able to receive, record, retrieve and deliver messages accurately,clearlyand pleasantly; routinely solve operational problems, whilemaintainingcordial, professional relations with guardians, clients, program staff, customer staff, and allCompany employees.
  • Maintain and reinforce compliance with Company policies through dispatch and direct observation; develop driver skills through discussion and example.
  • Promotegood performancethrough your positive support and recommend reassignment orappropriate disciplinefor non-compliance with Company rules or standards.
  • Spend sufficient time behind the wheel to know the routes, the clients, the drivers, and the programs and facilities;observeand supervise drivers in action, provide emergency back-up for absent drivers.
  • Build andmaintaina positive relationship with those you supervise; understand and address the challenges they face.
  • Develop and maintain a professional rapport withallofour customers which includes but not limitedto;programs, guardians, special needs clients of all ages and customer contacts from the organizations with whom we contract.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records to accurately perform monthly billing count
Qualifications:
  • Musthave prior supervising experience.
  • Must be self-motivated, show initiative, and have a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent customer service skills, bedetail-oriented,and likesolving problems.
  • Learn the programs, clients, and employees sufficiently to determineappropriate assignments.
  • Enjoyworking with children.
  • Exhibit good technology skills; experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Outlook), Google Chrome, Android tablets, etc.
  • Mustmaintaina safe driving record and driver’s license and respond to coverage needs asrequired.
  • Must be able to work comfortably in a small and busy office environment.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stretch, reach,liftand walk during an 8-hour shift.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable with ever-changing assignments.
  • Flexible scheduleincludingearly morning shifts.

Pay rate: $25/hour

Shift:

Monday/Thurs/Friday 2:00 - close

Sat/Sun 3:00 - close
