Job summary

C&S Companies in the United States seeks experienced inspectors for construction and transportation inspection on bridge, roadway, rail, intersection, and trail projects across New York counties and the greater Syracuse area. Opportunities may also exist in New Jersey and Northern Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities include documenting measurements for payments, supervising material testing, and ensuring compliance with NYSDOT specifications.

Qualifications

• Some relevant construction observation experience is preferred.
• NICET Level II certification is preferred, or candidate must have a desire to pursue certification during term of employment.
• Associates Degree desired; Bachelors' degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine construction inspection services under the supervision of a Senior Inspector, Chief Inspector or Resident Engineer.
• Duties include taking and documenting detailed measurements for payments, supervising material testing, and notifying supervisor of issues and potential deviations from plans and specifications.
• Must maintain knowledge of company standards, plans, and NYSDOT specifications; communicate project requirements to contractors and maintain daily reports.
• Utilize safe work practices and report incidents, accidents or hazards to supervisor or Health and Safety department.
