Job summary

Ayres Associates seeks a Transportation Construction Engineering Lead in North Carolina to lead client development and project delivery. You will coordinate with the Burlington team and national staff to drive growth in transportation construction services.

The role requires a PE in NC or the ability to obtain within 3 months, plus 8+ years in related work and a proven BD track record. Travel to multiple locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis on transportation.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina or able to obtain within 3 months.
• Minimum 8 years in transportation construction management with business development and staff mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Identify, market, and win transportation construction management projects from clients such as NCDOT, counties, municipalities, and private firms.
• Prepare and negotiate contract documents for projects.
• Perform onsite construction management and oversee project execution.
• Manage client relationships and project teams to deliver on schedule and within budget.
• Lead project teams to ensure quality standards and profitability per Ayres Associates' requirements.
• Mentor staff and contribute to their career development.
• Assist with design and plan production through constructability reviews and value-added tasks.
• Develop annual business plans and budgets focusing on growth, finance, marketing, and training.
