Job summary

Quality Engineering Solutions, Inc. (QES) is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector 2 (TCI-2) to join our team.

The role focuses on inspecting roadway, highway and bridge construction to ensure compliance with plans, specs and safety standards. The TCI-2 will document quality assurance activities, monitor materials testing, and collaborate with clients and project staff to maintain project schedules and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year PennDOT TCI-1+ experience with one of: PennDOT Concrete Technician, NECEPT Field Technician, or NICET Level I+ in Highway Construction.
• Alternatively, 2 years transportation/highway/bridge inspection with one of: PennDOT Concrete Technician, NECEPT Field Technician, or NICET Level II+ in Highway Construction.
• Or 3 years transportation/highway/bridge inspection experience; or 4 years highway/bridge design with completion of 12 TCI training modules.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of roadway, highway and bridge projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Monitor and document quality assurance for soils, concrete, aggregates, and bituminous products.
• Comply with overtime requirements from PA Turnpike, PennDOT and client.
• Meet with Client Project Engineer/Manager daily for instructions and assignments.
• Complete project documentation: daily progress reports, cost estimates, and material/labor/ equipment records.
• Ensure highway occupancy permits and erosion control compliance.
• Request guidance from Manager/Supervisor for inspection activities as needed.
