Job description

CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors for projects in the Washington, PA area, District 12, for the upcoming season in 2025.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor
• Consult with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others on plans, specifications, materials, equipment, methods, practices, and safety precautions involved in construction and installation
• Prepare daily progress reports and maintain progress schedules
• Check shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variation
• Maintain records of quantities and costs of materials used
• Prepare contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommend payment

OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Travel as required related to duties or as directed by supervisor
• Provide a positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company
• Perform other duties as required, consistent with the position

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Effective reading, writing, communication skills in English, and basic math skills
• Minimum of 1 year PennDOT experience or 2 years of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience
• Four years of highway or bridge construction or related experience; non-inspection personnel can substitute experience with completed web-based TCI training modules
• Civil Engineering or Construction degree can substitute for experience
• Bachelor's in a non-Civil Engineering field with completed TCI modules can substitute for experience

Preferred Certifications:

• NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
• NECEPT Bituminous field certification
• ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification
• PennDOT/PTC CDS certification
• ECMS experience
• OSHA 10-Hour certification
