Transportation Construction Inspectors (PennDOT Districts 11 & 12 - Allegheny, Washington, and Westmoreland Counties)

Southwest Pennsylvania, United States, Construction Management/Construction Inspection for Full 2025 Construction Season.

Ongoing screening will be conducted for staffing of multiple Construction Inspector hires for upcoming projects in PennDOT Districts 11 & 12 (Allegheny, Washington, & Westmoreland Counties) for the 2025 construction season.

Description

CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors for projects in Allegheny, Washington, and Westmoreland counties within PennDOT Districts 11 & 12.

The Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) is responsible for consulting with contractors, engineers, and others regarding plans, specifications, materials, and safety practices. The TCI prepares reports, checks shop drawings, maintains records, and recommends payments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ensure contractor compliance with contract documents and safety plans
• Verify materials and contractor layout accuracy
• Prepare daily work reports and maintain progress schedules
• Communicate effectively in oral and written forms
• Use computers and office equipment
• Perform physical activities such as bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working in various weather conditions

OTHER DUTIES:

• Travel within PennDOT District 12 as required
• Maintain a positive attitude and professionalism
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

High school diploma or GED; ability to read, write, and perform basic math. Two years of relevant construction experience is preferred. Valid driver’s license required.

Preferred certifications include BS Civil Engineering, NICET Level 2 or higher, NECEPT Bituminous, ACI/PennDOT Concrete, PennDOT/PTC CDS, ECMS experience, and OSHA 10-Hour.
