Position Details:

This role involves applying standard inspection procedures during and after construction to ensure structural quality, safety, and adherence to plans, specifications, and codes. Note: This position does not qualify for employer sponsorship except for TN visa classification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods for compliance and safety.
• Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
• Measure dimensions, verify levels, alignments, and elevations of structures and pavements.
• Maintain record documents and make field notes and computations.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong computer skills and active driver's license (must pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening).
• High school diploma or equivalent; 1-4 years of construction inspection experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Certifications such as VDOT Soils & Aggregate, Asphalt, Pavement Marking, DEQ E&S and SWM Inspector, among others.

Working Conditions

Work is field-based, involving bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, lifting up to 25 lbs, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
