A national multi-disciplinary engineering firm seeks a Transportation Construction Inspector for the upcoming 2025 construction season. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, preparing reports, and maintaining oversight of construction operations. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills and preferred experience or certifications in construction inspection.
CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors for the upcoming construction season for 2025 for PennDOT District 8, Harrisburg/Mechanicsburg areas.
The Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) is responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work. The TCI prepares daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules; checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations; keeps records of quantities and cost of materials used; prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment.
Relocation or sponsorship not available. Local candidates highly desirable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education and can read, write, and communicate in English and do basic math computations for length, area, and volume. Construction Inspection experience not required, but highly preferred.
The following certifications are preferred:
BS Civil Engineering
NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
NECEPT Bituminous field certification
ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification
PennDOT/PTC CDS certification
ECMS experience
OSHA 10-Hour certification
