Job summary
UrbanNY in Buffalo, NY is seeking a field inspector to monitor contractor activities and verify conformance with contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
The role requires NICET certification (II/III/IV) or an associate/bachelor\'s degree in civil engineering or related field, and it demands willingness to work day and/or night shifts, weekends, and travel with a personal vehicle and valid driver\'s license.
Qualifications
- NICET certification or civil engineering degree required.
- Ability to review construction drawings and specs on tablet/computer.
- Experience with government agencies preferred.
- Valid driver\'s license and own vehicle required; mileage reimbursed.
- Willing to work day and/or night shifts, weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Monitor contractor activities for conformance with contract documents.
- Prepare daily reports, quantity measurements and pay reports.
- Track material deliveries and shop drawings; prepare record drawings.
- Proactively communicate with contractor and client to progress the project on schedule.
