Job summary

AECOM in Arlington, VA is seeking a creative Civil Engineer to join our Transportation Business Line. You will contribute to roadway, transit and civil design projects for the DMV region, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver design-build and urban solutions.

The successful candidate will work with project managers, support QA/QC, and engage with clients and subconsultants while applying best practices and innovative approaches to transportation design and project execution.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 4 years of related experience.
• Experience with roadway, highway, transit and civil design for transportation projects.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D, OpenRoads, Microstation, Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Working with Project Managers and discipline leads with engineering tasks and other duties as assigned
• Performing and overseeing the preparation of deliverables such as calculations, drawings, design, and specifications related to roadway/highway design projects and transportation/transit systems
• Guiding junior engineers and providing QA/QC for projects deliverables
• Collaborating with other disciplines to research, analyze, or resolve complex transportation analyses or design issues
• Interacting and coordinating regularly with clients and sub consultants in the various assignments
• Understanding trends, best practices, and innovation in the transportation industry and exploring opportunities of implementing them on projects
• Providing assistance in business development activities in providing responses to RFP, RFQ, and SOQ including technical writing, and scope and fee development

Education

BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field
