Job summary

WSP USA offers hundreds of summer internships nationwide, including a Civil-Roadway Engineering Internship in Columbus, OH. This full-time summer role targets students in undergraduate or graduate programs and runs a 12-week schedule beginning May 17, 2027, with flexible start dates.

Interns will gain exposure to major transportation projects in the Southeast US, including interstate widening, interchange design, and bicycle/pedestrian infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program with anticipated graduation Dec 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Interest in Transportation Design or related field and desire to grow in WSP’s projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Able to take direction from mentors and leaders to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with engineering software, office tools, and documentation.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Comply with safety and conduct policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Civil Engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic Civil Engineering principles.
• Support project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Help prepare design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Contribute to project documentation and records.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
