Job summary

WSP USA invites current undergraduates or graduates to join our Civil Engineering Internship in New York City. As part of the Summer Internship Program, you will work on real projects alongside senior staff and mentors.

The role focuses on basic Civil Engineering concepts across transit, roadway, drainage, and utilities with hands-on research, field work, and preliminary design tasks. Start date May 17, 2027, with a 12-week program and no relocation housing provided.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in Civil Engineering undergraduate program with anticipated graduation May 2028 or later.
• Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Interest in Civil Engineering and desire to grow through real project exposure.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Able to take direction from mentors and managers and perform assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic Civil Engineering principles in public transit, roadway, drainage, and utility projects.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
