Job summary

WSP USA in New York City is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer Internship Program. This full-time internship targets undergraduate or graduate students and runs a 12-week schedule starting May 17, 2027.

Interns gain exposure to public transit, roadway, drainage, and utility projects, working with senior staff and through the Developing Professionals Network for mentorship and networking opportunities.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program with anticipated graduation May 2028 or later.
• Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Interest in Civil Engineering and aspiration to grow in WSP’s projects.
• Proficient in technical writing, office software, and basic design tools.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical and ethical skills.
• Learn Civil Engineering principles in transit, roadway, drainage, and utilities.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Support preparation of design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
