Job summary

DOWL is seeking an enthusiastic Civil/Transportation Intern to assist on a variety of civil engineering projects in Fairbanks, Alaska. The role offers one-on-one mentorship and hands-on experience with design packages across Transportation, Water & Environmental Services, and Land Development groups.

During the internship, you’ll perform field work, support construction administration, and help with drafting, calculations, and reporting under supervision. Summer 2027 internship opportunity.

Qualifications

• One to two years of college-level course work in civil engineering.
• Prior work experience in construction or civil engineering related fields is desirable.
• Valid driver’s license is required to support business purposes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field investigations and data collection for projects.
• Support design, analysis, and inspection activities.
• Perform drafting support and prepare project-related correspondence.
• Assist with technical reports and construction specifications.
