Job summary

DOWL is seeking a Transportation Intern to provide engineering assistance across a range of projects in Transportation & Structures, with mentorship and hands-on experience in design, field data collection, and construction support. Summer 2027 internship opportunity.

You will assist with AutoCAD drafting, perform calculations, and help develop design packages under senior engineers in a collaborative office in Anchorage, AK.

Qualifications

• One to two years of college-level course work toward a civil engineering degree.
• Experience in construction or civil engineering related fields is desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret technical materials and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field investigations and data collection.
• Perform engineering calculations in support of design projects.
• Tabulate bid items and estimate construction costs from plans and specs.
• Provide AutoCAD drafting support for project packages.
• Prepare and route project-related correspondence and records.
• Assist with writing and editing construction specifications and reports.
