Job summary

New Prague Area Schools in New Prague, MN is seeking a part-time bus driver to operate a school bus on a to-from route for AM and PM shifts as a long-term substitute.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, follow safety rules, and ensure the safe transport of students on designated routes; training will be provided to obtain school bus license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Minnesota driver's license (Class D) and acceptable driving record for insurability by the District's insurance carrier, and to meet state requirements.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers License with a school bus and passenger endorsement.
• Ability to pass a federally mandated drug/alcohol screen.
• Successful completion of the school driver training programs and courses established by the state and/or school district.

Job Description

This position is for an am and pm long term sub to/from school bus route.

Approximately 6.00 - 6.25 hrs/day, student contact days.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for operating a school bus and transporting school‑aged children and other authorized personnel safely and efficiently over specified routes to and from schools and various activities. Conducts pre‑trip inspections; observes safety regulations and policies; enforces student discipline on the bus.

WORK REQUIREMENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS:

Education/Certification/Licensure:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Minnesota driver's license (Class D) and acceptable driving record for insurability by the District's insurance carrier, and to meet state requirements
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers License with a school bus and passenger endorsement
• Ability to pass a federally mandated drug/alcohol screen

Applicant must have a good driving record, be able to pass a drug and alcohol test, and pass a background check. Applicant must also be dependable with a good work ethic. Training will be provided to acquire a school bus drivers license.
