New Prague Area Schools in New Prague, MN, seeks a Transportation: Morning Route Bus Driver to cover a 3.5 hour morning route. The position is part‑time and starts immediately.

You will operate a school bus, perform pre‑trip inspections, enforce safety rules, and transport students and staff to and from schools and activities. A Minnesota Class D license with school bus endorsement is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Minnesota driver’s license (Class D) and acceptable driving record for insurability by the District’s insurance carrier, and to meet state requirements.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers License with a school bus and passenger endorsement.
• Ability to pass a federally mandated drug/alcohol screen.
• Successful completion of the school driver training programs and courses established by the state and/or school district.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for operating a school bus and transporting school-aged children and other authorized personnel safely and efficiently over specified routes to and from schools and various activities. Conducts pre-trip inspections; observes safety regulations and policies; enforces student discipline on the bus.

WORK REQUIREMENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS:

Education/Certification/Licensure:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Minnesota driver’s license (Class D) and acceptable driving record for insurability by the District’s insurance carrier, and to meet state requirements
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers License with a school bus and passenger endorsement
• Ability to pass a federally mandated drug/alcohol screen
• Successful completion of the school driver training programs and courses established by the state and/or school district

Applicant must have a good driving record, be able to pass a drug and alcohol test, and pass a background check. Applicant must also be dependable with a good work ethic. Training will be provided to acquire a school bus drivers license.
