Job summary

Western Home Communities is seeking a compassionate Transportation Assistant II (CDL) to safely transport residents to appointments, events, and activities across Cedar Falls, Jesup, Grundy Center, Ackley, and Madrid. Flexible hours, 8–24 per week, with opportunities for meaningful one-on-one interactions.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, operating vehicles safely, and completing required documentation while maintaining passenger comfort and a positive experience.

Qualifications

• CDL with passenger endorsement required.
• Comfortable driving longer trips up to ~4 hours round-trip.
• CPR certified or willing to obtain.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility needs.

Transportation Assistant II (CDL) Location: (Iowa) Cedar Falls, Jesup, Grundy Center, Ackley, and Madrid Schedule: This position offers flexible hours, typically ranging from 8–24 hours per week depending on scheduled events and transportation needs.

Western Home Communities is seeking a compassionate and dependable Transportation Assistant II to safely and efficiently transport residents to appointments, events, activities, and special outings. In this role, you will have the opportunity to spend meaningful one-on-one time with residents while helping create a positive and enjoyable experience during each trip.

Responsibilities:

• Transportation duties may include driving groups of up to 24 passengers — including both ambulatory and wheelchair residents — to destinations throughout the Cedar Falls, Jesup, Grundy Center, Ackley, and Madrid areas as needed.
• Provide quality punctual transportation services for residents traveling to appointments, events and activities.
• Complete required documentation for services in a timely manner.
• Assist residents with safe and efficient loading and unloading including any medical equipment.
• Interact with residents in a friendly and positive demeaner, supporting residents in creating enjoyable and engaging community experiences.
• Operate transportation vehicles safely while ensuring passenger comfort and security.
• Spend meaningful one-on-one time with residents while helping create a positive and enjoyable experience during each trip.

Requirements:

• (Required) CDL with passenger endorsement.
• Must be comfortable driving longer distances, including trips that may extend up to approximately four hours round-trip.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility needs and safely operate transportation equipment.
• Good driving record that meets insurance company requirements.
• CPR certified or willing to achieve.
• (Preferred)High school diploma.
