Job summary

Casa Grande Elementary School District Transportation is seeking a Transportation Assistant to support students during transport to and from school and activities, ensuring safety and sanitation of vehicles.

This 10-month, full-time position requires monitoring students, handling incidents, and assisting staff. Starting immediately, salary is $15.80 per hour with duties within the district’s transportation operations.

Qualifications

• Experience desired
• Pass a criminal justice fingerprint/background clearance
• Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English

Responsibilities

• Assesses potential emergency situations on the bus/van and within loading and unloading zones
• Assists students with safe loading and unloading
• Instructs students regarding rules and regulations
• Monitors students, (e.g. unruly, disruptive, abusive language, etc.)
• Monitors students with special needs until released to teacher, instructional assistant, parent, etc.
• Prepares documentation, (e.g. incident reports/student behavior code, passenger misconduct, etc.)
• Reports observations and/or incidents, (e.g. discipline, accidents, any physical or mental changes pertaining to students, inappropriate social behavior, etc.)
• Secures students and/or equipment with restraints, tie downs, (e.g. wheelchairs, seat belts, operating lift as needed, etc.)
• Assists other personnel as needed
