Messiah Lifeways is seeking a dependable Transportation Assistant in Mechanicsburg, PA. This PRN role supports residents, families, and staff by safely driving Messiah Lifeways fleet vehicles to appointments, activities, and events.

You will help residents travel comfortably, secure wheelchairs, and communicate effectively with the team. The position offers flexible hours in a day shift, requiring at least a high school diploma or GED and a PA driver’s license with minimal violations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with minimal violations.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, lift up to 50 lbs and assist with wheelchairs.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents and supplies using fleet vehicles (vans, cars, wheelchair vans, or buses).
• Assist residents with care and secure wheelchairs for safe travel.
• Communicate clearly with residents, families, team members, and the Transportation Coordinator.
• Keep mileage and time records; maintain clean, stocked vehicles.
• Stay alert to safety needs, traffic laws, weather conditions, and emergencies.
• Assist with additional transportation needs including mornings, evenings, weekends, or events.

In this PRN role, you will help residents, family members, team members, and guests travel safely to appointments, activities, errands, outings, special events, and more.

What You’ll Do

• Safely transport residents and supplies using Messiah Lifeways fleet vehicles, including vans, cars, wheelchair vans, or buses.
• Assist residents with care and respect, including properly securing wheelchairs for safe travel
• Communicate clearly with residents, families, team members, and the Transportation Coordinator.
• Keep accurate mileage and time records and help maintain clean, well-stocked vehicles.
• Stay alert to safety needs, traffic laws, weather conditions, and emergency procedures.
• Pitch in with additional transportation needs, including occasional mornings, evenings, weekends, or special events.
