Job summary

The Transportation Assistant at the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System in Cleveland, OH serves as the primary contact to Veterans for transportation needs within the Veterans Transportation Service (VTS).

Qualifications

Transportation Assistant acts as primary contact to Veterans for transportation needs with the Veteran Transportation Service (VTS) Supervisory Mobility Manager for transportation workload forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development, and quality improvement implementation, modification of processes, evaluation, and ongoing operational flow of the Veteran Transportation Service (VTS) program. These positions are located at the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System in Cleveland, OH.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-05) in the Federal Service, that is directly related to the work of the position and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties as a Transportation Assistant for the GS-6 level. Qualifying specialized experience includes performing transportation support duties such as coordinating connections/scheduling, documenting travel information; collecting, compiling, and tracking data on a daily basis; performing a basic analysis of data and generating a variety of reports; entering data into automated tracking databases; and planning and directing a program that provides support services.

NOTE: One (1) full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
