Job summary

New York State Department of Transportation seeks a Transportation Analyst Trainee/Analyst to support highway planning and design projects under supervision of a Senior Transportation Analyst or licensed Professional Engineer. Responsibilities include data collection, analysis, reporting, and coordination with consultants and municipalities.

• Ability to collect, evaluate, and summarize transportation data.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical activities in support of transportation projects in planning and design.
• Define project scope and determine methods to collect and evaluate data; prepare findings and recommendations.
• Review project development, designs, estimates and reports for consistency with proposals and planning objectives.
• Conduct performance management data analyses and assist with project management software and QA plans.
• Prepare correspondence, cost estimates, schedules, and specifications using scheduling software.
