Job summary

Staffordshire County Council is seeking a new Transport Planner to join the Connectivity Strategy team and help shape the future transport network for Staffordshire. Qualifications

• A levels or BTEC Level 3 in relevant discipline or experience in a transport planning environment.
• Understanding of the role of local authorities in delivering transport projects.
• Demonstrable IT experience and ability to use software packages (e.g., Microsoft).
• Ability to assimilate, disseminate, communicate and present complex information.
• Good organisational skills and able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and delivering the Local Transport Plan.
• Analyse transport data and the preparation of reports including trend analysis and data limitations.
• Applying GIS analysis techniques and other accessibility planning software
• Producing plans, graphics and text to be included in reports.
• Responding to general transport planning related correspondence, in line with the Council's policy position on transport.
• Liaison with other internal Council officers and external organisations.
