Job summary

Thermo King of Dallas in Commerce City, CO is hiring a Refrigeration Technician Apprentice at 5170 East 58th Place. The apprentice will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair transport refrigeration units, APUs, and heating units, working under a lead or mentor technician.

Training spans four segments with 90-day evaluations; year-end Thermo King Certification is expected. Basic tools and electrical knowledge are required; forklift cert is provided by employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years of trade school or equivalent experience preferred.
• Must have or acquire tools needed for this position.
• Must have the ability to maintain a forklift license.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to operate test vehicles.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and skills preferred.
• Basic knowledge of 4-cycle engines, Ohm’s Law, electricity, and 12-volt DC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn and develop practical skills; participate in classes and workshops; observe health and safety codes; complete tests and assignments.
• Install, maintain and repair transport refrigeration units, auxiliary power units (APUs), and heating units.
• The training is defined in four segments, with 90-day evaluations and certification tests at year end.
• Some knowledge will be gained through on-the-job training as you perform repairs assigned by a lead or mentor technician.
