Gregory Distribution Ltd. is seeking a Transport Operator to join our Bridgwater-based team. The role involves coordinating transport operations, administration, and day-to-day running of the contract with nationwide driver coverage.

Qualifications

• Prior transport operations experience in transport and logistics.
• Knowledge of Manpack traffic system is advantageous.
• Ability to communicate at all levels.
• Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Able to work in a team or on own initiative.
• MS packages: Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate transport activities across peak and off-peak periods.
• Manage day-to-day transport challenges and driver debriefs.
• Build relationships with customers to maintain high service standards.
• Support and debrief drivers to ensure compliance and performance.
• Maximise fleet and resource utilisation through planning.
• Produce operational reports and identify trends for improvement.
• Handle queries via email, phone and in person.
• Assist in KPI production and daily statistics.
• Provide hands-on support during breakdowns or disruptions.
• Foster a positive, high-performing team environment.
