Job summary

Pediatric Health Choice in New Orleans, LA seeks a Transport Driver to safely transport children enrolled in the transportation program, assist with loading and unloading with a medical escort, and adhere to transportation schedules.

You will communicate with families, perform vehicle checks, document properly, and respond to emergencies while maintaining a positive environment for children and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Louisiana driver’s license
• Chauffeur’s License
• CPR certification
• One year of experience in commercial driving
• Experience in caring for children
• Must be at least 18 years of age (21 years preferred)

Responsibilities

• Safely transport children enrolled in the PDHC transportation program.
• Assist with loading and unloading children from transport vehicles alongside a medical escort.
• Follow transportation schedules and complete all required documentation.
• Conduct thorough vehicle checks to ensure no belongings or children are left behind.
• Collaborate with the transport coordinator to troubleshoot transportation issues.
• Communicate with caregivers and families regarding transportation details.
• Respond to emergency situations during transport when requested.
• Maintain a positive, harmonious environment for the children and staff.

Education
