Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a dedicated Regional Transfer Center professional to coordinate air and ground transport, monitor unit locations, and ensure safe patient transfers. You will follow radio protocols, maintain documentation, and support bed assignments while delivering responsive service.

The role requires strong attention to medical terminology, problem-solving, and excellent communication with care teams, physicians, and dispatch teams to ensure timely patient arrivals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; an associate degree is preferred.
• Minimum two years of transport/dispatch experience is required.
• Certification as a Flight Communicator within 90 days of hire; NC EMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely direct and coordinate communications with air and ground transport units.
• Monitor transport locations via tracking software and maintain radio communications.
• Perform flight following per FAA FAR 135 requirements.
• Adapt to changing transport conditions and switch modes when needed.
• Coordinate bed assignments and notify care teams of arrivals.
• Provide real-time updates and exceptional customer service.
• Maintain a safe Transfer Center environment and follow PAIP procedures.
• Document transport requests and maintain patient transfer records.
• Dispatch air and ground resources and track aircraft movements.
• Update physicians and clinical staff on acceptance and arrival status.
• Complete all required documentation accurately.
