The successful candidate will assist with the development, quality and growth of the transplant program and provide call coverage as specified.

Qualifications

• Assist with development and growth of transplant program.
• Provide call coverage (7 days/month) including one weekend.
• Lead clinical rounds and coordinate care for transplant inpatients and outpatients.
• Lead surgery meetings and transplant clinic discussions.
• Establish processes to enhance patient care.
• Assist with outreach and multidisciplinary team building.
• Develop quality standards and evaluate procedural outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development, quality and growth of the Transplant Surgery Program at SUNY Downstate.
• Provide call coverage for an average of 7-days per month, including one weekend.
• Provide comprehensive onsite surgical attending care for all transplant surgery, inpatients and outpatients including daily multidisciplinary rounds and communication with referring physicians.
• Lead daily rounds and ensure ongoing communication with referring physicians.
• Lead all surgery meetings as well as the transplant surgery clinic.
• Establish structures and processes to enhance patient care.
• Assist with outreach strategies and multidisciplinary team building efforts.
• Assist with the development of quality standards and evaluation of procedural outcomes.
