Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in Houston, TX, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate, high-quality care and support patient recovery.

The role requires a BSN, TX RN license, CPR, and at least one year of RN experience upon hire. You will perform assessments, develop care plans, coordinate discharge planning, prepare patients for procedures, ensure medication safety, and participate in interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• At least 1 year of RN experience upon hire.
• Registered Nurse license in TX upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 14 days.
• Demonstrated competence in RN I performance expectations or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive assessments, provides holistic nursing care, and notifies physicians of significant changes.
• Develops and evaluates individualized care plans, including patient/family education and discharge planning.
• Prepares patients for procedures, implements orders, and ensures medication safety.
• Regularly reassesses patient responses to interventions and adapts care as needs change.
• Uses Bedside Shift Report, provides thorough patient updates, and delegates tasks for seamless care.
• Maintains a safe environment and contributes to quality and patient satisfaction initiatives.
