Job summary

CU Denver in Aurora, Colorado seeks a Clinical Director of Transplant Medicine to lead clinical and translational research across multiple subspecialties within the Transplant Center. The role combines strategic leadership with an active clinical practice in transplant infectious diseases and ongoing faculty mentorship.

Lead research investments, develop interdisciplinary collaborations, and guide program expansion while ensuring high-quality patient care and academic education.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent with medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification in internal medicine or a relevant subspecialty (e.g., nephrology, hepatology, pulmonology, infectious diseases, cardiology).
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Colorado.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in a solid organ transplant-related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a translational and clinical research strategy for the Transplant Center.
• Oversee a $25 million five-year research investment and report performance.
• Serve as Medical Director and Section Lead of Transplant Infectious Diseases.
• Mentor faculty across Transplant Medicine, Surgery, and Infectious Diseases.
• Direct and optimize research infrastructure, operations, and resources.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration to advance transplant outcomes.
• Lead program growth and faculty recruitment for transplant infectious diseases.
• Advance extramural funding, high-impact publications, and national presentations.
• Maintain active clinical practice while educating fellows, residents, and students.

Education
