Job summary

UCSF Health in San Francisco seeks a Hospital Assistant II to support the kidney and/or liver transplant program. Under general supervision, you’ll staff clinics, perform vitals, medication reviews, and assist with post-transplant care.

You will coordinate labs, schedule studies, process refill requests, and communicate care plans to patients, working closely with MAs, LVNs, RNs, MDs, and APPs.

Qualifications

• Must be flexible to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
• At least one experience as a medical assistant in a large, busy clinic
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program; or equivalent training and experience
• Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned

Responsibilities

• Staff clinics as assigned
• Perform routine clinical duties including vitals and medication review
• Support post-transplant patient management including scheduling studies and sending lab orders
• Communicate plan of care to patients
• Collaborate with clinical staff including MAs, LVNs, RNs, MDs, and APPs
