Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking a Hospital Assistant II to support the kidney and/or liver transplant programs. Under supervision, you will staff clinics, perform routine clinical duties, and assist with post-transplant patient management.

You will coordinate scheduling, test orders, and medication refills, while maintaining professional communication with patients and a collaborative approach with the clinical team. Flexibility to work across UCSF Medical Center locations is required.

Qualifications

• Requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
• Minimum one year of experience as a medical assistant in a large, busy clinic.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Staff all clinics as assigned.
• Perform routine clinic duties including vital signs, weight, and medication review.
• Support transplant office tasks: scheduling studies and tests, processing medication refills, and sending orders to labs and facilities.
• Communicate with patients about plan of care.
• Collaborate with clinical staff (MAs, LVNs, RNs, MDs, APPs).
