Job summary

Saint Luke’s Health System is seeking a Transplant Financial Specialist to guide patients through financial planning for transplant procedures and ongoing medical needs. You will evaluate primary and secondary insurance coverage, immunosuppressant drug coverage, and assist with billing compliance.

You will participate in the patient selection committee, providing timely input on financial clearance, and ensure transplant authorizations are documented in the medical record.

• Assess insurance coverage and financial situation for transplantation and immunosuppressant drug coverage and ensure program billing compliance.
• Attends and actively participates in patient selection committee by providing up to date and accurate input on patient financial clearance for transplantation.
• Responsible for ensuring that authorization for transplant is documented in the patients record.
• Communicates with coordinators and case managers to ensure that all team members are knowledgeable of patient financial situation.
• Works with patients to make insurance changes when needed.
