Job summary

Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant in San Antonio is seeking a Dietitian – Transplant to plan, organize, and evaluate nutritional care for pre- and post-transplant patients across multiple clinics.

You will perform nutritional assessments, develop care plans, educate patients, participate in satellite clinic operations, and collaborate with the transplant team to determine candidacy and manage waitlist nutrition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree focused on nutritional aspects of patient care in acute care setting.
• Registered Dietitian and licensed in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Perform nutritional assessment, develop plans of care and educate patients and caregivers as appropriate.
• Participate in satellite clinic operations for patient assessment and multidisciplinary meetings with transplant team members to deem candidacy.
• Responsible for meeting patient needs, understanding disease process and dialysis needs for transplant evaluation and follow-up.
• Determine recommendations for nutritional status improvements and provide direction for resolution of barriers to transplantation.
• Maintain documentation in the patient’s medical record of all interventions and recommendations to determine candidacy.
• Collaborate with medical team and referring dietitians to determine best transplant plan of care and waitlist nutritional management.
