Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist to advance pharmacotherapy and lead medication reviews within the Heart and Liver Transplant Service lines. The role supports formulary processes, medication reconciliation, and education for staff, students, and residents in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The position requires an ASHP-accredited residency or equivalent experience, Texas pharmacist licensure within 90 days, BLS/ACLS within 90 days, and preceptor certification.

Qualifications

• ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency or three years of equivalent experience.
• Meets HM standards of an ASHP-Qualified Residency Preceptor within one year.
• Texas Pharmacist License or eligibility within 90 days.
• Pharmacist Preceptor Certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Precepts students and residents, supporting clinical skill advancement.
• Processes orders and verifies drug appropriateness via patient data.
