Job summary

ManpowerGroup's client is looking for a Transmission Warranty Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI, to join the quality and engineering organization. The role focuses on warranty analysis and product improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and customer satisfaction.

The candidate should bring strong analytical skills, CAD reading ability, and collaboration across design, supplier quality, manufacturing, and service teams to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• 5-10 years in automotive warranty analysis, product/quality engineering, or failure analysis.
• Strong understanding of automotive mechanical systems.
• Experience with teardown analysis and component diagnostics.
• Ability to read CAD drawings, engineering specs, and test reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed warranty part analysis and failure investigations for returned field components.
• Conduct root cause analysis using 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, FMEA, and fault tree methods.
• Analyze failed components related to transmission, gearbox, axles, and driveline systems.
• Support disposition activities including teardown analysis, repairability assessment, scrap/rework recommendations, and containment actions.
• Collaborate with design engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing, and service teams to drive corrective and preventive actions.
