Job summary

J.C. Lewis Ford Pooler is seeking a Transmission Technician to join our service department in Pooler, GA. You will diagnose and repair transmissions, review and document repairs, and perform test drives to verify fixes in a fast-paced dealership environment.

The ideal candidate has experience with automatic and manual transmissions, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team. ASE certifications are preferred, and you must provide your own tools.

Qualifications

• Proven experience diagnosing and rebuilding transmissions in a dealership setting (minimum 2 years preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• ASE certifications preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Perform transmission diagnostics and repairs efficiently and accurately.
• Review repair orders and work according to dealership and manufacturer standards.
• Document findings and repairs on repair orders.
• Conduct test drives and use diagnostic tools to identify vehicle issues.
• Communicate repair needs clearly with service advisors and team members.
• Complete warranty repairs per manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional workspace.
