Job summary

J.C. Lewis Motor Co. in Pooler, GA is seeking a qualified Transmission Technician to diagnose and repair transmissions in a fast-paced dealership service department.

The role requires experience with both automatic and manual transmissions, with ASE certifications preferred and tools provided by the candidate. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, be able to work independently or with a team, and uphold dealership standards while delivering high-quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Two years of dealership experience preferred.
• Ase certifications preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• Must provide your own tools and have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be 19 years or older with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform transmission diagnostics and repairs per dealership standards.
• Review repair orders and perform work according to manufacturer standards.
• Document findings and repairs on repair orders.
• Conduct test drives and use diagnostic tools to identify issues.
• Communicate repair needs clearly with service advisors and team members.
• Complete warranty repairs per manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional workspace.

What You'll Do:

Who We're Looking For:

Proven experience diagnosing and rebuilding both automatic and manual transmissions (at least two years of experience in a dealership setting preferred)

Advanced mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

ASE certifications preferred, or willingness to obtain

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Must provide your own tools

Must be 19 years or older with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Willing to submit to a background check
