Hybrid: This role requires reporting to Milford Proving Grounds at least three times per week, or as dictated by the business.

The Role:

We are seeking a Transmission Safety Validation & Verification Engineer for the Transmission Diagnostics Calibration organization. The engineer performs tests to ensure transmission system safety, working closely with diagnostic calibrators, transmission calibrators, and safety engineers. The role involves engaging in transmission programs from early development through validation, launch, and after-sales service. Creative engineers passionate about embedded control systems and vehicular safety are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

  • Execute system-level testing to achieve Development Vehicle Usage Level (DVUL) approval, ensuring safety compliance.
  • Analyze data, document results, and investigate test non-conformities.
  • Recommend test procedure improvements and share lessons learned.
  • Provide technical guidance to global teams.
  • Support development of new functions, issue analysis, and test plans with safety engineers.
  • Participate in Technical Review Board meetings.
  • Support safety, vehicle development, durability, warranty analysis, and problem resolution.
  • Develop and run automated tests for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations.
  • Conduct diagnostic testing to validate vehicle systems with HIL.
  • Create tools to automate data processing.
  • Prepare reports on HIL results and present findings.
  • Collaborate with teams to simulate vehicle issues and collect data.
  • Assist team members with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Mentor engineers in testing methodologies.
  • Serve as the embedded controller contact for propulsion system teams and represent the controller team in leadership forums.
  • Lead overall issue resolution for assigned programs, supporting status reviews, risk management, and cross-team collaboration.
