Job summary

American Electric Power seeks a Documentation and Process Manager to oversee the process and documentation team, set execution plans, and ensure timely, high-quality documentation for Transmission. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and six years of progressive experience in documentation, business process, or technical process.
• Two years of supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine strategy and tactics for implementation of a comprehensive process and documentation plan.
• Lead team to execute planning, building, delivery, and support of the program across Transmission Operations and TFS.
• Provide direction for development, specifications, and communications of the process team and offer high-quality customer support.
• Oversee compliance documentation according to NERC timelines and quality expectations.
• Ensure templates, directions, and storage meet business unit needs.
• Provide day-to-day oversight to monitor and implement process documentation and business support initiatives.
• Monitor key metrics and report milestones and performance to leadership.
• Define program goals, objectives, and business needs.
• Identify team roles and drive culture and development.
• Define policies, processes, guidelines, standards in alignment with NERC and industry regulations.
• Oversee publication of policies and standards across business units.
• Maintain documentation in accessible, secure systems.
• Build consensus and buy-in through effective communication.
• Lead projects and initiatives with efficient processes and resource use.
• Promote safety, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
