Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Transmission Planning and Studies Engineer to collaborate with regional and global power systems teams in supporting and leading projects for utility clients in the Northeast US.

The role requires a strong background in transmission planning, NERC/FERC/NPCC standards, and experience with PSS/E, TARA or PSCAD. Travel within North America is expected; a PE license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 4 years of direct experience with power system studies using PSS/E, TARA and/or PSCAD.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of steady-state and transient power system studies.
• Lead or support projects through the full lifecycle including technical bid/proposal to execution and client meetings.
• Collaborate with North America and global teams and participate in ISO/RTO technical forums.
