Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a transmission planning and studies engineer to support and lead projects with Northeastern US utility clients. You will work with regional and global power systems teams to deliver steady-state and transient studies, and to support business development and proposals.

The role requires an advanced degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering, 4+ years in power system studies, and familiarity with ISO-NE/NYISO/PJM/IESO, NERC/FERC/NPCC standards, plus travel across North

Qualifications

Advanced degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering.
Minimum 4 years of direct experience with power system studies using PSS/E, TARA and/or PSCAD.
Strong background with ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM or IESO.
Up to date knowledge of NERC, FERC and NPCC reliability standards.
Team player with good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Ability and willingness to travel within North America.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of steady-state and transient power system studies.
Participate in meetings with utilities as part of project delivery or business development.
Lead or support projects throughout the lifecycle—from technical bid/proposal to execution, reports, client meetings, and close-out.
Work closely with team members across North America and globally.
Participate in ISO/RTO stakeholder forums and stay up to date with standards and requirements.
