Job summary

Jacobs seeks a transmission planning and studies engineer to collaborate with regional and global power systems teams across North America, supporting ongoing projects and business development for utility clients focused in the Northeast. You will apply your deep knowledge of transmission planning, bulk system studies, and planning processes.

The role requires experience with PSS/E, TARA, PSCAD and familiarity with NERC, FERC, and NPCC standards, plus hands‑on exposure to ISO/RTOS such as

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering is required.
• Minimum 4 years of direct experience with power system studies using PSS/E, TARA and/or PSCAD.
• Strong background with ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM, IESO or similar entities.
• Up to date knowledge of NERC, FERC and NPCC reliability standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform steady‑state and transient power system studies.
• Participate in meetings with utilities as part of project delivery or business development.
• Lead or support projects from technical bid/proposal to execution, reports, client meetings, and close‑out.
• Collaborate with North American and global team members.
• Participate in ISO/RTO forums and stay updated on standards.
